The Fitzroy market

Fitzroy's community market is held on the third Saturday of every month, which was timed perfectly with my friend (and ex landlady) Diane's visit from New Zealand.  We met at the gate at 10.30am and although it got hot quickly, there was no stopping our bargain hunting.

I scored a Sportsgirl dress for $8 (bartered down from $10... not by me, I'm a wuss), a pair of cherry red Dr. Martens boots, $10, and a vintage necklace for $1 - that's a whole outfit for under $20!!

We spent a large chunk of the day sitting under the trees chatting and Diane gave me some tips on how to drive my Canon camera.  Before we headed to Vegie Bar (where I had the BEST slice of chocolate cake of my life) we each picked a colour and headed around the markets to photograph items in that hue.  I randomly chose purple.
